I Offer My Life

All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before you O Lord
All my regrets, all my acclaim
The joy and the pain, I'm making them yours

(Chorus):
Lord I offer my life to You
Everything I've been through
Use it for your glory
Lord I offer my days to You
Lifting my praise to You
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer You my life

Hi Kids, remember about this song we sung this morning? Yes, it's about our live as a sacrifice to God. It means when we serve Him, do something for God, we show our love to God.

Here are some of the things that you think you can do to give to God (Click on the image to have larger image):

Group 1.

Group 2.

Group 3.

Group 4.

Whether it is worshiping God, or give offerings, or giving to the needy, or stop people from fighting, let's do it for God, for His love to us is far bigger when we were sinners.

Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my hopes, all of my plans
My heart and my hands are lifted to You.

(back to Chorus)

Class Rule 2011

Hello kids,

Just like to remind us about the class rules in Love class in 2011. This is not to place burden on you, but to help us to respect God, others, and also to understand God's words better.

#1. Listen to your teacher.
Failure to do so, then: on 2nd warning, sit at the punishment chair.

2. Always Memorize Memory Verse
Failure to do so, then: Stay back for 5 minutes and memorize today's verse.

#3. Keep your HP and Toys
Failure to do so, then: Teacher will confiscate it and will return it after the class. Repeated offenders will need to bring along parents for the collection.

#4. Speak Politely
Failure to do so, then: Stay back and write an apology letter to the person that you hurt 10 times.

#5. Bring bible, pen, and blue book
Failure to do so, then: Stay back and cleanup the class

Desert, where you mostly see sand ....

Hi Kids,

Hope you enjoy your Sunday and looking forward for Chinese New Year holiday. What a short week!

As per email from Kak Ipei last week, all of you learnt about how God led Moses and the Israelties in crossing Red Sea, which was part of Israelties 40 years journey! Escaped from Egypt and headed to Canaan.

I got a something to share from my trip to Egypt in Dec 2010 - Jan 2011.

I was on the way from Egypt to Kuwait when the plane flew across the desert. Obviously sea of sand! I hardly saw anything else other than sand.... It reminded me how God led Moses and the Israelties miraculously with pillar of cloud during the day time, protecting them from the heat, and pillar of fire to warmed them up and enlighted their path. Both guided their journey. The temperature on desert can vary from 9 to 24 degree Celcius during winter time and from 24 to 42 degree Celcius in Summer time.

Some part of Egypt can be 5 to 20 degree Celcius during winter time! Extreme temperature change does happen on desert, particularly for places located far away from coast line.

The first picture shows desert from the plane. All sand, no trees, road, houses, lighting, building and barely living thing. Spots are shadows of the cloud. If I was there by myself, I would definitely be lost! GPS wouldn't help me and no one to ask....
The next picture shows closer view of desert. Do you see anything other than sand? Can you imagine, if you are standing there...., exhausted, hot, hungry and thirsty? Obviously, you can only depend on what in your backpack.

God gave Israelties Manna and quails for free in their 40 years journey over the desert. Water was also provided in the area where they built their tends temporarily. In Him, nothing is impossible. So, count on Him and it is very easy to talk to Him, He is only as far as your pray....
Have a blessed week ahead!

"Up, Up and Away"

Michael and his father walked toward the crowd of people who were waiting
to see a group of hot air balloons lift off the ground. "How many balloons are
there?" asked Michael.

"I don't know," replied Dad, "but this is a huge event. People come from all over to take part in it."
Before long, most of the colorful balloons were inflated and had ascended into the sky, floating off in various directions. As Michael watched, he remembered the day when he and a few friends had gone up in a hot air balloon. The owner, a friend of his father, had kept the balloon anchored to the ground with a rope because the wind had become very gusty, but Michael remembered how it had felt to be floating up -- up towards the clouds.

Dad turned to Michael with a smile. "Do you know what this reminds me of?" asked Dad.

"A bird," replied Michael promptly. He pointed toward a bright red balloon with bold, gold lettering. "A cardinal -- because it's red like that balloon."

Dad smiled. "Actually, I was thinking of something quite different," he said. "I'm reminded that if we truly give our problems to the Lord, He will lift them from us and carry them away."

"I've heard preachers say something like that," said Michael, "but I don't really see how we give problems to God."

"We allow Him to lift our burdens by praying and then trusting Him," explained Dad. "Sometimes we pray but fail to trust. We don't let go of our problems but stay attached to them."

"Like when I went up in the hot air balloon that was attached to the ground with a rope?" asked Michael. "I couldn't really float away."

Dad nodded. "We need to remember that the Lord doesn't want us to worry or fret. He cares for us very much, and He can handle our problems. We need to release our fears and trust Him to work everything out in the best possible way."

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Do you have problems that seem too big to handle? Do you wish they would float away? God wants you to give those problems to Him. He knows just how to take care of them. Trust Him, and let Him lift your burdens and carry them for you.

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Like a Donkey

"Are you as smart as a donkey?" asked Mr. Jim, the leader of the children's church. The kids laughed, and Mr. Jim continued. "If you are, you can serve Jesus. The donkey in today's lesson did."
"I don't get it," said Trevor. "Jesus rode on the donkey's back, didn't He? (See
today's Scripture reading.) You mean we're supposed to give people rides on our backs?" Trevor liked to ask questions that might make the kids laugh.

Mr. Jim smiled. "No," he said, "but the donkey gives us a
great picture of a servant. First of all, he was where God wanted him to be-he was available. We should ask ourselves, 'Am I in a place where God can use me? Am I available to Him?'"

Trevor shrugged. "I am," he said. "I'm here all the time-whether I want to be or not." Some of the kids laughed, and he looked pleased with himself. "But I'm not good at singing or speaking," he added, "and I don't have any money to give, either."
"I've sat in front of
you in church, Trevor," said Mr. Jim. "I happen to know you actually have a very good singing voice." He smiled as he added, "The donkey had to be untied. Maybe you need to let Jesus untie your fears-maybe you're afraid to try to serve Him."

Trevor frowned. He couldn't think of any smart reply, and Mr. Jim
continued the lesson. "Also, the donkey was willing to let Jesus control him," said Mr. Jim, and he explained that even though the donkey had never been ridden before, he did what Jesus wanted him to do. "Have you truly let Jesus control you, or have you been stubborn?" asked Mr. Jim. Trevor began to feel more uncomfortable.

"How about it, class?" asked Mr. Jim at the end of the
lesson. "Will you ask God to take control of your life, to loosen your tongue
and untie your fears? Will you be a servant just like the little donkey
was?"

HOW ABOUT YOU?
Are you afraid to sing or play an instrument to serve Jesus? Do you think kids will laugh if you make a mistake? Are you willing to give a testimony or share a Scripture verse if you sense God wants you to do that? Take a lesson from the donkey. Be available for wh
atever task, great or small, God has for you. Ask Him to remove your fear. Let Jesus control your life.
